“My kid can bench more than your kid”

Ummmmm…….
I am all in favor of physical fitness for children today. Heck, I am running the marathon this Sunday for Team for Kids, a charity dedicated to bringing fitness into public schools.

But I’m not sure about this five year old.
Guiliano Stroe is now in the record books for the fastest 10 meter handstand walk with a weighted ball between his legs.
So is he the hero of pre-K fitness? The victim of his pumped up dad (no doubt the disembodied voice doing all the counting in the video)? A wonderful salute to Darwinism? You decide……

I think this is absolutely ridiculous. They are really taking it to the extreme here! Yes I feel that children should stay physically fit and active but this is just not normal. And what about this child’s future health. Will he continue to weight train and possibly stunt his growth? And most importantly.. can he beat me in arm wrestling?

you cant help but feel bad for Giulano. the physical effects of training too young are well documented and we all know the that the earlier someone is in the public eye, the less likely they are to make it out alive.
then again, dude is pretty cut and does have his family/siblings/homies dancing behind him in this vid, so….
He freaks me out!! The kids dancing in the background have the right idea! Giulano should put down the weights and join them! He looks so serious and uptight. He is a toddler! What will this kid be like as a teenager I wonder.
